Our eleventh week in China has come to a close. Also, we’re only 21 days shy of 100. Today nothing out of the ordinary happened. Lauren, Gonzy, and I got our circuits test done and turned in, as well as the homework. In thermo, we discussed the homework we turned in last time, and then covered some new material. After that, I went back to the apartments for a few hours before catching the bus to Link City, because I hadn’t been in a while. Dan and Cierra went to Starbucks to work on homework, while Lydia, JC, Lauren, Vidy, and I all went to shop. We visited the drug store to get some necessities, and then we started wandering upstairs. We stopped for a while at a couple of clothing stores, and then went to a small French-style bakery.
The bakery is part of a chain called Tous les Jours, and sells all types of pastries and other baked goods. We all got a little something to eat, and also somethings to eat for breakfast and snacks on the train. After that we went to Molly World and played a few games of air hockey. After that we boarded the bus and returned to the apartments. I dropped my food off in the apartment, and then sat down with Rachel, Gonzy, and Kim who were watching the new Cinderella movie, which was in Chinese with English subtitiles. After that, Lauren came down to see if anyone wanted to watch a movie. But before we decided on a movie to watch, Rachel, Gonzy, Lauren, and I all went to one of the nearby convenience stores to buy snacks for our weekend.
After we bought our snacks, we all came back and watched Despicable Me before going to bed. We all went to bed relatively early because we have to be on the bus at 06:15 tomorrow. We’re going to Jinan, the capital city of Shandong Province, for the weekend. We are going there to do a 12-hour intensive culture class at Shandong University, which is another of UDCI’s partner universities, and we have to get up early to catch the 07:56 Shanghai-Beijing express at Suzhou North Railway Station. I’m looking forward to it immensely, because the only trains I’ve ridden in China so far are subways. I plan on spending the majority of the four hour journey in the cafe car doing homework.
