I did almost nothing today, as I have no classes on Tuesday. In the evening we all decided to visit Moon Harbor, an area with restaurants and shops. We ended up in a fine Chinese dining establishment, called Laobeimeng (Low-bay-mung), all twenty of us sitting around the same table. The place settings and table were not really different from those we had at our first lunch, except that the service was impressive ( they removed your napkin from your wine glass and placed it between your plate and lap for you, for example), the table was enormous (quite possibly 6 feet in diameter), and in the center was the biggest lazy susan I think I’ve ever seen. It was easily half an inch thick and 4 feet in diameter. Dinner itself was excellent. We learned very quickly from our dining experiences that at Chinese restaurants, each person orders a dish, but everyone shares every dish and splits the whole bill evenly. We also found that we were more adept at using chopsticks than we thought (which isn’t saying much, since most of us expected to fall flat on our faces in that department). After dinner we went to a Cold Stone Creamery next to a movie theater in a nearby building. The building itself is in a horseshoe shape and is covered in lights that change color periodically. I also came across a large model of Moon Harbor near the ice cream shop:
After ice cream we hailed taxis and went home.
